Dental practices across Scotland have been informed by the health authorities that they will be able to remain open and provide treatment, irrespective of whichever lockdown tier they may find themselves within. This is based on the robust cross infection control measures that have been implemented and no evidence of coronavirus transmission within a dental setting.
Thankfully, the majority of the restrictions pertaining to dental treatment have now been lifted, and we are now able to provide most treatments, dependent on clinical necessity and the level of urgency. Unfortunately, this does not mean that we are operating normally. Despite the removal of some constraints, the additional screening measures, combined with cleaning and fallow time (the time we need to leave the surgery empty after a drilling procedure), means that our operating capacity and efficiency continues to be significantly compromised.
In our attempt to manage treatment need, we have now introduced a traffic light system which allows us to prioritise certain patients. Should you require treatment, we will provide you with an indication of when you will be seen, but please can we ask for your continued patience and understanding with respect to the potential increased waiting times.
If you are considering joining the practice, we would be delighted to welcome you. Please telephone 01334 475433 for more information, or feel free to use the online contact form. One of our team will be in touch with you within 24 hours to help answer any questions you may have.
